We handle sourcing, styling, weekly maintenance, and seasonal removal. All pumpkins return to Illinois farms to feed animals, truly farm to farm.

Q: How do I convince my husband that we should get this? 
A: When your husband or partner says, "You're spending HOW much on pumpkins?!" your answer is HERE.

Q: What about buying pumpkins at Jewel or Mariano's?
A: Grocery store pumpkins are basic. They're limited in variety and often picked weeks earlier. They're also loaded in 1000 pound bins and loaded on a truck for delivery to the store. This is how pumpkins get scars on them. Never noticed? You will now. Ours are much more beautiful because we wrap them in blankets(!) and bring them home like precious cargo.

Q: What's the difference between Luxe Pumpkins and other pumpkin services?
A: We specialize in displays that read as art, not pumpkin patch. Our "Edits" often include special iron displays, lanterns, lighting, and seasonal flowers. We don't use hay bales (there are much prettier ways to build height) or corn stalks (unless you want them!). We're at your service. We don't focus on abundant displays sold by the number of pumpkins. We curate sculptural installations using special varieties that look amazing. 20 spectacular specials > 40 orange carvers and gourds. Do we use carvers? Sometimes. We may use them to stack our beauties on. Carvers are the back up dancers to our superstars. 

Q: How much is a luxury pumpkin display in Hinsdale, Oak Brook, and Western Springs?
A: Our luxury pumpkin displays start at $2000 for a curated display. This includes our hand picked pumpkins sourced from Midwestern farms, professional design and installation, weekly critter spray treatments, and removal. Can you find cheaper services? Absolutely. But they won't be Luxe.

Q: Is hiring a pumpkin decorating service worth it?
A: If you value your time and want a designer-level display, yes. We source pumpkins you can't find at stores. Our pumpkins are not scarred from being in an 800 pound bin and bouncing around in a truck from the farm to the suburbs. We handle all the heavy lifting, and create Instagram-worthy arrangements unique to your home.

Q: Why are luxury pumpkin services so expensive?
A: We travel hours away to specialty farms and those pumpkins cost more than store-bought varieties. We also include delivery, custom design, professional placement, weekly critter treatment, and end-of-season removal. You're paying for convenience, expertise, and exceptional materials.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book pumpkin decorating service?
A: We recommend booking before Labor Day. Not only do we sell out, some of our special Edits require advance purchasing. That includes any specialty irons works and plants. If you're a returning customer, we'll show you our 2026 Edits today. Just ask!

Q: What time of year do you deliver pumpkins?
A: We deliver late September through early October, timing it so your display looks perfect from October 1st through Halloween and beyond.

Q: Do you service apartments and condos or just houses?
A: We service any space with outdoor access including single-family homes, townhouses, condos with private entrances, and even rooftop terraces.

Q: Can you decorate my business or restaurant?
A: Absolutely! We work with boutiques, restaurants, country clubs, and corporate offices throughout Chicagoland.

Q: Can I share photos of my Luxe Pumpkins display on social media?
A: Please do! Tag us @luxepumpkins on Instagram. We love to reshare client photos (with permission) to inspire others.

🧡 Product & Quality Questions

Q: What's an heirloom pumpkin and why is it better?
A: Heirloom pumpkins are non-commercial varieties grown for beauty, not uniformity. They come in unique shapes you won't find at grocery stores. Sometimes they're just weird and that is so beautiful! Our pumpkins are conversation pieces.

Q: Where do you source your pumpkins?
A: We travel across Illinois visiting small farms to hand-select each pumpkin. We look for unusual varieties, perfect stems, interesting textures, and colors that create sophisticated color palettes.

Q: Can I get similar results buying pumpkins at a pumpkin patch?
A: Pumpkin patches are a wonderful fall experience! But our specialty farms don't have pumpkin patches like that. 

Q: How big are the pumpkins you deliver?
A: They range in size to perfectly compliment your home. From tiny filler pumpkins, to 15 pound pumpkins that simply serve as a place to stack another pumpkin, to 100 pound pumpkins. Quite frankly, we don't always include a 100 pound pumpkin. If it's orange, it starts to look "pumpkin patchy." Now we might bring you a 60 pounder in white. That's far more unique. (If you really want a huge orange, ask and we'll get you one.)

Q: Do your pumpkins last longer than store-bought ones?
A: Yes! Store bought pumpkins are exactly the kind of pumpkins squirrels go for first. Carvers. Our pumpkins are sprayed weekly and, weather permitting, will last until Thanksgiving. Read our section on "Critters and Weather." A "freeze and thaw" is much worse than any critter. But we have ways to save your pumpkins through a freeze!

Q: Can I carve these pumpkins?
 A: Sure you can! One caveat. Carving significantly shortens their lifespan. If you do carve them, we won't be able to collect them in November. Carved pumpkins mold quickly and we can't feed that to farm animals. We suggest you dispose of your carved pumpkins at a local Pumpkin SMASH event.

🧡 Pest & Maintenance Questions 

Q: How do you keep squirrels from eating my expensive pumpkins?
A: We offer weekly critter deterrent treatments using an eco-friendly spray. It's safe for pets and children but discourages wildlife from nibbling your display. Our success rate in 2025 was 98% of pumpkins!

Q: What if it rains heavily after you deliver?
A: Pumpkins are naturally weather-resistant. Rain is fine. We position them to avoid water pooling. Extreme weather? We'll check in.

Q: Will my pumpkins rot or get moldy?
A: Premium uncarved pumpkins won't rot or mold unless we have a "freeze and thaw." Plain carvers rot and mold regularly.

🧡 Sustainability Questions 

Q: What's the 'farm to farm' model?
A: We source pumpkins from Illinois farms, deliver them to your home for the season, then return them to farms where animals enjoy them as a nutritious treat. If you've sprayed your pumpkins with chemicals, you'll need to get rid of them yourself.

Q: Can I compost my pumpkins instead of having you pick them up?
A: Absolutely! If you have composting capability, you can keep them. Our pickup service is optional.

Q: Where do your pumpkins come from?
 A: We source from trusted Illinois farms, selecting each pumpkin for exceptional form, color, and character. 

Q: What makes Luxe Pumpkins different?
 A: We curate pumpkins the way others curate flowers or art. Each piece is chosen for its beauty and paired to create elevated seasonal designs. And yes, I drive all over central Illinois looking for special things. (The exception is the Jack O'Lanterns. They come from a great farm, but they're not as special as the heirlooms and other accents. #truth)

Q: Do you only use orange pumpkins?
A: No way! We source the most unique, sometimes weird, pumpkins to add a unique touch to every client’s display. We 💚 weird pumpkins! However, we do have a special way of making "orange" look unique and fabulous. Look at our Traditional Edit. It's anything but plain, old orange.

🚚 Ordering & Delivery

Q: What towns do you deliver to?
A: The Western Suburbs including Hinsdale, Elmhurst, Oak Park, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills, Burr Ridge, Naperville, Downers Grove and more. This is the first year we're going south to Orland, Orland Park, Tinley Park and Frankfort. We also deliver to the city of Chicago.

Q: Do you deliver to Silo Ridge in Orland Park?
A: Yes! We serve Silo Ridge, Crystal Tree, and other premier Orland Park communities.

Q: What about Barrington Hills?
A: Yes, we deliver to Barrington Hills and surrounding areas. Contact us for scheduling.

Q: Do you work in the Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District in Oak Park?
A: Yes! We love styling pumpkins to complement historic architecture, including Prairie School homes.

Q: Do I need to be home when you deliver?
 A: No. If you’re out, you’ll arrive home to a beautiful surprise! If you are home, please say hello.

Q: Do you offer same-day delivery?
 A: Not at this time. We deliver on scheduled days to ensure freshness and quality.

🧡 After the Season

Q: What happens when I’m done with my pumpkins?
 A: In November, we offer one collection day. All pumpkins we gather are returned to local farms where animals enjoy them. Truly farm to farm. 

Q. What if I treated my pumpkins with something other than what you recommend? For example, deer spray, hair spray or, if I put candles in them.
A. We cannot collect those pumpkins. We deliver our used pumpkins directly to farms and they must be safe for the pigs, cows, horses and goats. Also, as mentioned above, we don't take carved pumpkins.

Q: Can I keep mine longer?
 A: Of course! If your pumpkins are still in good shape, you’re welcome to enjoy them as long as they last. If October is cool, they could make it to Thanksgiving. Many heirloom varieties last into the holidays. There will be a fee for late pick up and disposal.

A: Yes! We can design custom assortments for backyards, mantels, entryways, and events. Reach out to us directly for details.

Q: Can I request specific colors or sizes?
 A: Yes. We love imagination! Let's discuss your idea and we’ll do our best to curate exactly what you have in mind.

Q: What if my pumpkin arrives damaged?
 A: We don't use damaged pumpkins, but if something isn’t right, contact us within 24 hours. We’ll replace it.

Q: Do you accept returns?
A: Because pumpkins are perishable, we don’t accept returns.
